The customer is a leading supplier of connectors and interconnect components. As part of its production process, the company's facility in Nebraska receives raw metal in coil form and then manually feeds it into a stamping machine. Their equipment can run multiple coils at a time during the stamping process, but can only feed the metal coils one at a time. Employees were then required to flip or orient every-other coil to maintain a constant feed for stamping production. The company was looking for an improved method for feeding multiple metal coils for stamping. While investigating its options, the company found standard inverters were not able to hold the material securely due to the variance in the thickness of the raw coils.
